I got the Artisan Kal.g3 HIEN soft mouse pad in the mail today. I've tried this mouse pad while playing Quake 3 arena and the tracking of my mx518 is really GOOD now when i'm trying to aim. My mouse slides into enemy hitbox and BOOM! dead. I like this pad very much, Thank you!

by J.N

Received my mouse pad 2 days ago and I am very pleased. I have already replaced my Steelseries QCK+ with this mousepad as it feels much more reliable and accurate. I'm very pleased with the Artisan brand and I will be buying a larger version of the pad.

by B.M

My Kai.g3 arrived today, and I am very impressed with it. My mouse glides smooth as silk over it, and unlike other pads and surfaces I have tried, it does not slip on my desk. Thanks for sending it to me, and I will recommend it to everyone I know.

by J.P

I checked out your mousepad. although it makes more noise than other gaming mousepads i've used, the feel is excellent and it tracks perfectly. highly recommended. i suggest you make a large version that's at least 14-15 inches wide (about 38 cm), it would be a fierce competitor to the QcK+

Artisan gaming mouse pad: ?..must say its one hell of a mouse pad. I've tried this mouse pad while playing cod4...the tracking of my g500 is really better now when i'm trying to aim. better all my accuracy seems to have improved due to greater mouse control given by the pad. I give it a 10/10 rating.

Hey there, just received your mouse pad today. There are many things that are amazing; one that you would use an express mailing service for a free sample, the packaging for the product and the amazing product itself. As with German engineering, Japanese engineering is absolute precise quality. The comfort, feel, colour,... texture and an amazing ability to stay cool are but a few things I have discovered in the first minutes of use. I hope there is much more to discover with this amazing product. And most of all thanks for the product.

Mini review - excerpt from main From those of you whom have seen or heard of Artisan from Quakecon 2010 will know that it has been kept in high regard from various testimonials, especially from one such pro gamer as Cooller. The HEIN.g3 soft pad, is strictly not quite like other clothpads as the name implies however, ado...pting a firm surface with supposed better sustainability and reliability, with the downside of not being able to fold or crease the pad else endangering it. This in turn, has yielded a much greater surface; inspired by the product page description, initial movement and control are actually far better than I anticipated from a 'soft' pad.

Whilst maintaining a seemingly low coefficient of friction (imperical evidence will be added to main review), the pad gives great control, most likely due to the small ridges or undulations provided by the texture. Mouse travel is textured rather than smooth. Much of this pad can be compared to the Zowie G-TF, with hav...ing the same feel, resistance of friction and control, however there is far more texturing on the HEIN.g3, and offering slightly greater ease of movement fluctuations (initial motion). I'm quite frankly, very interested in what material Artisan use for this pad, as it's exceptionally good. To the touch, the surface feels very coarse, however the mouse is able to move effortlessly and smoothly across the small ridges. This is most likely to change according to what type of mouse skates you have (size, flux).

In comparison to the Puretrak talent, things are vastly different. Whilst the Talent provides a smooth silky surface (loose nit weaving), this has also admirably aimed to address speed and control. Whilst using this type of surface or material, the friction is used to an extent for control. Here the HEIN.g3 has amazing... movement and great control at the expense of comfort. Its' textured ridges are subtle, yet allow you to keep track of mouse displacement. Amazing stuff from this company, they seem competitively serious about their mousepads, which is a great thing to see for competitive gaming.

A few days ago I was lucky enough to get to test a kai.g3 (medium, soft) mouse pad, so I thought I'd give you a small review about the pros and cons of the pad. Let me start of by saying that I really like the pad. First of all it is important to mention that I'm usually playing on hard pads (I've only used a soft pad once - a razer mantis speed), the pad I've been using for quite some time now is the razer destructor. The mouse I tested with was the Steelseries Xai. The game I played was, of course, quake live. The actual facts:

I've never encountered any skipping whatsoever, which is probably the most important factor, when it comes to mouse pads. It is to mention, however, that the pad has more friction than for example the razer destructor- this is not necessarily a bad thing, though, it just comes down to personel preference ( cloth pad users will probably prefer this anyway). What is special about this pad is that it doesn't really feel like a cloth/soft pad during play - it rather feels like some sort of hybrid between soft and hard pads and this is exactly why even I as hard pad player can enjoy this pad so much. The actual feeling you get when using this pad can hardly be described, though (since it's somewhat unique).

I've honestly got no negative thing to say about the pad at the moment, the only little thing i could critizise is the actual size of the pad itself, since the medium version is about 1,5cm shorter than the razer destructor, what makes the pad more for higher sens gamers (im currently at 28cm/360 degrees). This, however, shouldn't be an issue since the pad is availabe in 3 different sizes (small, med. , large).

Since looks aren't important in my opinion I'm posting this last. The version I got was plain blue, no irritating or disturbing logos or graphics, which i liked. It just looks like a good solid pad.

In conclusion, I have to say that I would seriously consider buying one, this would just depend on the price here in Germany. Anyhow, this pad is definitely, in no way behind the big brands like razer and co and a worthy alternative. My razer destructor found its new place in the closet, because from now on I'm using the kai.g3.

Review of the KAI.g3 HIEN gaming mouse pad: This mouse pad is great! It's much bigger than any mouse pad I've used before (even the medium sized one). There's a lot of space to move your mouse around. It is very smooth and it does not make my cursor jump around on the screen, which happened to

me a lot with my older mou...se pads. Also the smooth finish doesn't prevent your hand from sliding. The "sticky" bottom of the mouse pad prevents it from sliding around, making it stay in place even during aggressive game play. It is not made of any cheap material and I am pretty sure that the material doesn't fray. That gets very annoying, but not with this mouse pad.

Overall: 5/5*
Thank you again for this great mouse pad!

by J.B

So far I've only had the mouse pad for 3 days due to certain troubles with the mail, however I have had it long enough to build an opinion about it. So far I've used the Kai G3 to play: Counter Strike Source, Counter Strike 1.6, Quake 4, Quake Live, and League of Legends. To be honest, I am very satisfied with the mous...e pad even though Hien Artisan said that this mouse pad is made mainly for First Person Shooters I had a good time using it for Real Time Strategies as well. The mouse pad came in a very nice and. simplistic box with lots of Japanese words that really caught my attention.

Now to the mouse pad: it is just right size and it is very thin, I can work on it with pretty much any sensitivity and I don't have to worry about it slipping off and hitting my desk. The surface is AMAZING, it is really smooth and it feels like no other mouse pad that I have ever used before the glide is just great, the bottom of the mouse pad grips on to my table with no problem, and even during some of the most challenging moments this mouse pad will not slip off your desk.

My rating is 9/10 as excellent. I'd be very happy if the mouse pad would have come with a little little logo on the top right corner that would make it look different from all the other mouse pads that you can get from Game Stop or so.I really wish this helps you out, if it does not feel free to contact me via. my Facebook Fan Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sever1ty/416216870701?ref=tsI will be making an unboxing/first looks then a review video, probably all in one so I'll let you know when that happens.Feel free to use my review as a reference.

I would like to thank for the mouse pad.

The mouse pad for me performed very well in BFBC2 and G700 mouse.

It gave me enough drag but not too much to capture many shots that with a slippery mouse pad I would have slipped past my target.

The mouse pad is a great size for me and needs to be no bigger, I am a med/ high sens player and the sized for me is perfect.

The only improvement that I see, and this may just because its a sample product, is that you should consider a talented graphic artist to design special packaging for such good quality mouse pads.

All in all, I like the product and should make for good competition with even the best of names of mouse pad makers. The look and feel of it is awesome and I would highly recommend it to others.

Thank you very much for allowing me to test this out. And in the future if you need anything else please get in touch with me.

by L.R

Thank you for the mousepad. I have receive it last week and tried it out with two different mouse. Razor Abyssus and IE3.0. I use IE3.0 on daily basis. The pad was incredibly large but my desk is very space challenging so I had to test out the pad in the uncomfortable position. I was wondering whether there is a small size one available to suit my daily usage environment.

The first impression for HIEN is that the initial motion is very fast, it is really easy to move the mouse. And when I want to stop, I can stop right away. But by applying same force, each time my cursor stopped at different spot, even tho it is close to each other. I had some trouble getting the accuracy in game like everyone else described. Maybe it is just me that I am not used to it. Comparing to Zowie R-TF, Zowie's pad is much slower but a little easier to control.

I think I cannot write a proper review because it didn't fit where I play usually but this is definitely some product that I am very interested how it can evolve in the future.

Thank you once again for sending me HIEN Best regards

Hello, my ARTISAN KAI.g3 HIEN mouse pad just arrived to my house here in South America, Ecuador, and instantly i played some matches of quake at quakelive. and is just awesome, the mouse turns so smooth, increase your accuracy, and the size is just perfect, i recommend it to all fps players who needs an extra in the ac...curacy, and a better reaction with fast movements,

if you try one of this mouse pads you never gonna regret.
Thanx alot Artisan!

I received the mouse pad today... and at first I was a little iffy about using a rough surface pad because traditionally for me I've used soft surface pads. I've been using it throughout the day and I must say.. It is one hell of a mouse pad. I currently use a Razer Goliathus Speed Edition (Which is a very great prod...uct in itself) but this mouse pad as caught my attention. I never thought I would like rough surface pads but I haven't stopped using it today. It's worked well for all the games I play and I intend to keep using it a bit longer to "break it in".

I'll post a message on mIRC about your product because it definitely broke my expectations! Thanks!

ARTISAN KAI.g3 HEIN Gaming Mousepad Review I'm not gonna lie. When I was contacted via Twitter from @artisankai in what appeared to be a spam advertisement for a gaming mouse pad, I was skeptical to say the least. However, perhaps against my better judgment, I decided to give it a go and follow up on it. I visited their Facebook page and found out that I had been contacted on Twitter on behalf of a company called “Grow Up Japan Eand that they appeared to be a fairly new company Japanese specializing in PC gaming gear looking to get their name out there. Surprisingly they were willing to ship their one of their “ARTISAN KAI.g3 HEIN Emouse pads free to gamers who would give their honest opinion of it and write a short review if they liked it.

Well, you know how much I like free stuff, so I decided to request one, promising a review after using it for a day or two. They quickly responded asking for my shipping address and promised to send one out to me ASAP. Yesterday, it arrived here in central California, a little less than a week after I requested it. I have been using the mouse pad exclusively since it arrived and these are my initial observations and impressions:

The top surface of the pad is made of textured cloth. It is unlike anything I have felt before. It is fairly rough, which helps with tracking, and yet still allows my trusty Logitech G500 to glide over it effortlessly with very minimal drag.

The middle of the pad consists of a fairly thick layer of stiff foam. The foam provides just enough padding to stay comfortable while being firm enough to support the top surface of the pad.

The bottom surface is made of a rubbery material that does a great job at keeping the mouse pad in one place. It literally seems like the pad is glued to my desk, which is great.

The tracking on my Logitech G500 with this pad has been nothing less than stellar. I have experienced smooth pixel by pixel movement while using this pad and no jitter or jumpiness that I have experienced while using other mouse/mouse pad combinations.

I received the medium sized pad (they also come in small and large) and it measures approximately 12.5x9.75 inches. This is the one thing I do not like about the mouse pad. I am simply used to larger pads and have found that the size of your pad often becomes critical when playing FPS games and bigger is always better.

I am very impressed with the overall look and feel of the mouse pad. Everything about this product screams quality. It just has a very professional look to it that I believe will look great with any hardware setup.

In conclusion, I was quite impressed overall with this mouse pad and I thank the guys from ARTISAN for sending it out to me and giving me the opportunity to review it. It will be interesting to see if this promising start-up can make it in the very competitive industry that they have placed themselves in. I definitely look forward to any future products they might release.

Pros: Great tracking Low coefficient of friction Overall look and feel Grips my desk “like glue Ebr />
Overall 8.5/10

About me
I'm a college student, and I've been playing video games since I was six years old. I've played RTS games (e.g. Starcraft) since 10 years old and have been playing rst person shooters for 3 years. My setup is a Core i7 860 @ 4.0 GHz, EVGA GTX 470 SC, XFi Extreme Music Sound card, and water cooling on both the CPU and GPU. My keyboard is the Logitech G110, and the mouse I used on the mousepad was the Razer Deathadder 1800 dpi. I have used the Razer Goliathus gaming pad, but I do not use it anymore because it wore out within 3 months. I have been playing Starcraft 2 a lot recently, and for rst person shooters, I am a low sensitivity player.

Initial Impression My rst two initial impressions of the mousepad was negative. 1. I was surprised that I could not roll up or bend the mousepad. The Razer Goliathus pad can be rolled up, so I expected the same. 2. The rough texture of the mousepad made it seem like it was not going to work well Despite these initial impressions, I discovered the mousepad to be much better than my rst impressions

Review The rough texture did really throw me o . I just didn't think that a rough texture would bene t my mouse tracking. But, the surface de nitely has made me more accurate with my mouse. I have found two huge bene ts of the rough texture: (1) Despite it not feeling smooth, the surface de nitely tracks much better than my desk surface (2) the texture gives friction that prevents the mouse from sliding too much. The non-slip rubber bottom is great. I've had problems with the Razer Goliathus as it would move around, but the KAI.g3 doesn't move around at all. For RTS games, the mousepad is perfect. The balance of smooth tracking and good friction allows me to have good micro. For rst person shooters, the mouse pad is just too small. I'm a low sensitivity player, and I need much more mouse space in order to play games like Call of Duty 4 properly. But the mousepad really tracks really well and that's the main feature required for any good mousepad.

Suggestions
There are a few things I would recommend. If you're really trying to sell this product in the American market, you HAVE to make look much more attractive. The American market are suckers for products that look cool. People want to show o their cool stu to their friends, and the plain blue design of the mousepad you sent just doesn't cut it. I don't really like ashy things, but I am not the typical gamer in terms of tastes. A cool logo, a cool color scheme, and maybe even a di erent shape than a plan rectangle might make all the di erence in on how well the product will sell. I have to say the same thing about the packaging. A colorful box with a cool logo will cause somebody to buy a product at the store. But, it's a great mouse pad, and a little of marketing will probably make this sell well.

Hello there, i just want to say what a great mouse pad you guys gave me. It feels so smooth/accurate on any fps game i play. I never thought my cheap no branded mouse could be so accurate. I used to have the SteelSeries QcK Mouse Pad, and to be honest that one ain't got nothing on this one. The ARTISAN KAI.g3 HIEN is... definitely a must buy.

by J.G

I just got my pad in the mail and it really is a great product. My old pad was a Ratpadz GS and this new Artisan blows it away. Played a little CoD4 and I had to turn down the sensitivity a little because the mouse was moving so smoothly. Thank you!!

by H.Y

Just got the pad, and i must say

it feels super awesome. better then any mousepad i had before. the surface feels smooth as butter and you can aim pixel precise because of the texture.

by E.W

I have to agree that this is the best mouse pad I have ever used. I have been using Razer mouse pads for six years and now I will use only these.

kay, here my review. Quality of the mouse mat is great. Everything is in shape, no single messed up edge. The mat is stable on my desk, it won´t slip away. My mouse glides nice and comfortable on it, even though I would prefer it a bit faster with less friction on it. On the other side it really glides steady and smoo...th. Maybe my mouse just weighs too much (Razer Lachesis). Okay this mat won´t win a design prize. It could have been designed a bit more stylish but that doesn´t count as much as quality and precision does ;)

Overall a really nice product and I would be glad seeing you to make a really (nearly) frictionless hard mat.

by F.L

I received my KAI.g3 mouse pad one week ago and i've been using it since then. The upper surface feels slightly rough, even if the weave and the resulting texture is very fine, while the back is made of rubber and it perfectly holds the pad wherever I put ...it.

TESTING (KAI.g3 mouse pad and Razer Deathadder):

First of all I tryed the pad with my every day duties that go from Autocad drawings to Photoshop and i have to say it performed impeccably. Eager to try it in a gaming situation I definetly wasn't disappointed: the tracking is superb and always precise while the surface is awesome in terms of sliding. I've been playing fps like Quake 4 or Quake Live since years and i can say the KAI.g3 enhanced my gaming experience both in terms of fun and performances. I'm honest to admit it's probably the best pad i tryed since now, i sincerely recommend it if you look for a great pad for every day purposes and especially for gaming. Amazing work guys , keep it up!
